Information:

 

John Newcomb will present a talk reviewing aspects of two early NASA space missions – the Lunar Orbiter and the Viking Mars Landers, based on his personal experiences, recounted in his book of the same name. The talk will be followed by a question and answer session. Signed copies of the book “A Bunch of Plumbers” will be available for purchase at the conclusion of the event. Light refreshments (pizza!) will be served.

 

Bio:

 

John Newcomb grew up in Gloucester, Virginia. After graduating from Virginia Tech, John joined the Langley Research Center as a young engineer an quickly became involved in tow of NASA’s early space missions – the Lunar Orbiter Project and the Viking Project. After Viking, John headed NASA’s Physics and Chemistry Experiments – in Space Program that performed experiments in the free fall environment of NASA’s Space Shuttle and The International Space Station.
