Additional Information: Presentation (PDF)

Under the DARPA Taskable Agent Software Kit (TASK) program, researchers at Metron, Inc. have developed and tested a set of distributed algorithms for dynamic task allocation and negotiation for multi-agent systems. These new algorithms have demonstrated significant benefits on simulations of semi-autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) fleets responsible for performing intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) on mobile ground targets. The new capabilities allow UAVs to plan missions collaboratively and to re-plan adaptively based on real-time changes in UAV availability, pop-up targets and communications capabilities.
