An Introduction to Scenario Optimization Short Course

  • RSVP: Mary Catherine Bunde (mary.bunde@nianet.org)
  • Speaker: Marco C. Campi, University of Brescia (Italy)
  • Description: Uncertain optimization is ubiquitous, and application domains range from robust and predictive control to system identification, from machine learning and prediction to management sciences. In many applications, knowledge on uncertainty is partial, and one relies on previously seen cases, or scenarios, to make a decision. This leads to the set-up of scenario-based optimization. The course introduces the attendee to scenario-based optimization and to its powerful generalization theory. Specific application domains covered include identification, machine learning and robust control.
