The National Institute of Aerospace (NIA) has an immediate opening in support of its NASA Educational Television (NETV) Program. We are currently seeking a Web Developer to provide support to the program in development and support of web sites for NETV. Individual will be required to work on problems of diverse scope, where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of various factors. Will operate within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining results. This position will report directly to the Director of the NETV Program.
Primary Duties:
- Individual will be responsible for developing interactive educational games using Macromedia Flash.
- Work with project managers and team members to help determine standards, procedures and schedules for web site development and integration.
- Participate in establishing deadlines, and provide on-going communication of progress.
- Assist project and program managers in the establishment of goals and objectives; budget; and identify, coordinate and acquire resources needed to reach them.
- Assist project managers and/or encourage program managers to establish quality standards; monitor, update, and report project status; and maintain project plans on schedule.
- Prepare concise communications and reports on project status.
- Assist in establishing methods to determine and track customer feedback and satisfaction.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in all dealings with colleagues, business associates, and customers.
Minimum Experience and Education: BS or equivalent and minimum 3 years related experience required. Must have expert working knowledge of Macromedia Flash MX and Actionscript programming. Experience with the following languages and tools is desirable: ColdFusion, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, ADO, SQL, Java, Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, Quark Express. Must be able to work in an Apache/Unix environment and have experience with web-based application development. Creativity and effective written and verbal skills are essential.
