NIA has created an exciting program for full-time graduate study called the NIA Graduate Research Assistantship (GRA) Program. Students in this program receive their degree from one of the NIA participating universities, perform research at NASA Langley Research Center and take innovative classes at NIA from any of our six consortium universities. Details may found on the Full-Time Graduate Study pages.
Research for NIA GRA research encompasses: aerospace vehicle systems; planetary capture, entry technologies; aerodynamics, aerothermodynamics, acoustics; structures, materials; airborne systems; atmospheric sciences; and sensor systems technologies. A description of research projects of current NIA GRAs is listed on the current NIA graduate students pages.
Specific opportunities for NIA GRA supported research for students entering in the Spring, Summer, or Fall 2008 may be found on the following link:
2008 Student Research Opportunities
In addition to the above opportunities, we have NIA GRA support available in research areas associated with the Langley professors which are found on the following link:
Research with Langley Professors
In addition, research opportunities in the area of atmospheric sciences are also available associated with an NIA/NASA/Hampton University program which is described on the following link:
