NIA seeks qualified students interested in pursuing postgraduate studies (Masters and Ph.D. degrees) in the atmospheric sciences. Students will have the opportunity to conduct their research at NASA’s Langley Research Center in conjunction with NASA leaders in atmospheric sciences research. Researchers in the Science Directorate at the Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, study the Earth’s atmosphere and how human activities influence it for a better understanding of global change. Their research focuses primarily on radiation balance and climate, atmospheric chemistry, active and passive remote sensing, satellite meteorology, planetary atmospheres and associated data management. Students will be enrolled in the graduate program at the nearby Hampton University’s Center for Atmospheric Sciences. NIA fellowships include an annual stipend, full tuition, fees and health insurance.
