Renowned cephalopod expert, Dr. Roger Hanlon
and UMD Morpheus Lab graduate student Geoff Slipher
discuss using EAP materials for active camouflage.
On November 14, 2007, one of the world’s cephalopod’s experts came to visit the UMD Morpheus Lab at NIA to help us understand more about these fascinating masters of disguise in order to better focus our efforts in active camouflage. Dr. Hanlon has made over 5,000 research dives during his 30 years as a marine biologist.
Dr. Roger T. Hanlon conducts most of his scientific research at his laboratories in Woods Hole Oceanographic in Massachusetts. National Geographic readers and Discovery Channel viewers will recognize Hanlon’s name for his fieldwork with squid and octopus around the world.
