NIA President Moderates the NASA Digital Learning Network Session
at Americas Competitiveness Forum

HAMPTON, Va. – The National Institute of Aerospace (NIA) President and Executive Director, Dr. Robert Lindberg hosted the NASA Space Program and Digital Learning Network session at the Department of Commerce Americas Competitiveness Forum (ACF) on June 10, 2007. The session was webcast live and featured students from Bolivia and Atlanta, Ga. interacting with Astronaut Cady Coleman at NASA Johnson Space Center.

This interactive event supported the education and workforce development track of ACF, hosted by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez. ACF provided a venue for government ministers from the Western Hemisphere to come together with leaders from the private sector, academia and non-governmental organizations to explore cutting-edge ideas and best practices in several key areas of competitiveness including sparking and sustaining innovation; creating solutions in education and workforce development; designing successful global supply chain strategies; and fostering small business development and growth.

NIA is a non-profit research and graduate education institute headquartered in Hampton, Va.
