PRE-SERVICE TEACHER STEM INSTITUTE

Academic Credit

Three credit hours are offered for the Institute through Hampton University with the following course description.

Course Designation: CNED 299

Course Description: This course is designed to enhance students' science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills. The students are engaged via a team-teaching, integrated STEM, inquiry-based model using NASA resources and NASA-related materials. The students use these resources as the basis for developing STEM lesson plans, relative to human exploration, and then teach those lessons to a group of 5th grade children as their culminating exercise.
