Learning Activities

Participants will normally be on-site at NASA Langley Research from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be exposed to the following:

• Experience hands-on, real-world activities
• Work through the 6E learning cycle and implement this cycle in lesson development
• Develop a conceptual understanding of human exploration
• Increase and strengthen technology skills
• Integrate technology into instruction to model best practices
• Experience and design STEM learning activities
• Develop authentic, problem-based learning experiences
• Practice the skills, language, and tools of disciplinarians
• Work collaboratively
• Increase their understanding of their "millennial" students

• Actively participate in all sessions and complete all assignments
• Make daily entries in a journal to process the workshop experiences, reflect on daily experiences, participate in an online learning community
• Develop and implement lesson plans that reflect an understanding of authentic, interdisciplinary, inquiry-based STEM instruction
• Collaborate with team members
