PRE-SERVICE TEACHER STEM INSTITUTE

Transportation

Transportation costs from city of residence to Norfolk, Hampton, or Newport News by air, bus, or train is covered. Please see details below. Students must make their own travel arrangements.

  • Students living in excess of 400 miles from NASA Langley Research Center may fly and will be reimbursed, for actual costs, up to $400 with receipts.
  • Students living up to 400 miles are expected to take ground transportation and will be reimbursed at a rate of 50.5 cents per mile up to $200 with receipts. Only drivers will be reimbursed for mileage and tolls. Students coming from the same location are encouraged to carpool.
  • Students should investigate their State Air Travel Rates and reserve early.
