Meet Alan Wilhite  
Alan W. Wilhite is the Langley Distinguished Professor of Advanced Aerospace Systems Architecture in the School of Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech and also serves as the co-Director of the Georgia Tech Center for Aerospace Systems Engineering (CASE). He currently teaches graduate classes and conducts research in systems engineering, robust design, aerodynamics, propulsion, MDO, operations, cost, and risk at NASA Langley Research Center supporting NASA's Space Exploration Vision. He has numerous published articles and several book chapters in these areas. He is an AIAA Associate Fellow and has served on several AIAA Technical Committees such as Aircraft Design, Space Transportation and Computer Aided Design. He is also a member of the International Astronautical Federation. He has served as a researcher, systems program manager, and senior director in the design and development of NASA space and aeronautic systems. He received a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from North Carolina State University, an M.S. in Flight Systems from George Washington University, and a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from North Carolina State University.
