Meet Naresh Thadhani
Dr. Thadhani is Professor and Associate Chair in the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and joint faculty in Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech. He joined the Georgia Tech faculty in September, 1992, after working for six years at his alma mater, the New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology, and doing a two-year post-doc at Caltech. His current research involves processing of nanocrystalline and non-equilibrium compounds and high-strain-rate mechanical property characterization of energy-absorbing and energy-releasing materials based on intermetallics, ceramics, thermites, and polymer-composites. He maintains a state-of-the-art high-strain-rate gas-gun facility with nanosecond resolution diagnostics. Dr. Thadhani is a fellow of ASM International and the author of about 200 publications in journals and proceedings.
