Systems Analysis for Aerospace Systems Short Course |
 |
Dates: December 7-8, 2006
Location: NIA, Rm 101
Instructor: Dr. Alan W. Wilhite, Georgia Institute of Technology
Registration: Closed to the public.
A complete design cycle of an aerospace system (the Lunar Surface Access Module) will be completed. Starting with the basics of systems analysis and systems integration, the initial setup of the design will be conducted using qualitative methods including quality functional deployment for requirements, decision criteria, and risk and initial trade study selections using the Pugh method. Basic conceptual quantitative methods will be defined for performance, mass, cost, and safety. Sensitivity analyses will be conducted to determine system drivers, uncertainty methods utilizing technology will be demonstrated using stochastic methods, and genetic algorithms for optimization.
