Step 1: NIA Invention Disclosure Statement
The NIA technology transfer and commercialization process begins with an NIA Invention Disclosure Statement. This document provides NIA with a framework for understanding the concept envisioned by the inventor and is a proprietary NIA document. The form can be accessed by clicking on the following link: NIA Invention Disclosure Statement.

The NIA Invention Disclosure Statement is the gathering point for such information as:
  • List of all potential Inventors, with all contact information.
  • Funding for the research (public or private)
  • Complete description of invention
  • Copies of Lab Books and notes in support of research
  • Any Prior publications related to the proposed invention
  • Any public Statement related to the proposed invention.
  • Preparation of a short abstract of the invention
